The space This private cabin is located on a 3-acre property in the middle of Skagit Valley farmland with an 1898 Victorian Farmhouse. The cabin has private views over farmland, with sunlight shining in huge windows from morning until late afternoon. Enjoy the full kitchen, and complimentary coffee, tea and snacks. The owners spend much of their time selling real estate in the Valley, but you may see them working in the yard or gardens. Guest access Guests have private access to the cabin and the immediate gardens around it. Enjoy watching the chickens in their "Chicken City" that Don built, or hang out on the deck and enjoy the view across the fields. Walks along the dike are enjoyable, and provide great views of the North Fork of the Skagit River as it flows by into Skagit Bay only a couple miles down the road. Other things to note Snow Geese are here starting mid-October! You may see and hear the Snow Geese all around Fir Island through March. There are plenty of picture-taking opportunities all around. A couple notes: Don’t park on the side of roads where there are “No Parking” signs. You will be ticketed. Also, you may also occasionally hear shots in the distance from hunters out there. Sound travels well across the valley, so don’t be alarmed. It’s usually just in the morning and ends shortly. Weather can also make it a bit soggy in areas of the property, so please be prepared if you go out in the lawn during wet weather. If it is freezing overnight, please be cautious on the cabin deck. It can get slippery with frost on it.
