We are near Highway 90 in an area that has mixed residential/industrial use. We are less than 10 minutes to downtown. Our location is an urban compound, but it feels like being in the country. It is a unique location, and you can read more than 100 reviews to see that our guests feel comfortable and safe nestled into our retreat-style compound surrounded by gardens, trees and outdoor structures. The main house is composed of two wings. The east wing has the Master Suite with a queen bed plus a private bathroom. I has a a laptop bar and TV. The suite also has private access to the deck and a door that separates it from the living area. The west wing has two bedrooms: Reflection (queen bed) and Remember (queen bed plus 2 single beds and a folding futon). Our toddler bed and port –a-crib is stored in this room. We have children’s toys and a high chair so that even our smallest guests will feel comfortable. From this bedroom, you can access a private deck and fenced outdoor area. Great for giving your dog an area separate from the rest of the compound. The open concept kitchen and lounge are in the center of the house. The lounge features a large leather sofa and recliner, big screen TV, our record player and vinyl record collection, games, toys and books. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots & pans and spices for folks who want to cook for their group. We also have a large refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffee bar, microwave, gas cook-top and oven. Our intention is that you will have everything that you need to cook and serve your group. . Our expansive outdoor area allows guests to enjoy Lafayette’s mild climate. We think it has something for everyone: a large deck off the kitchen, two outdoor dining tables, a grill and outdoor kitchen, lounge chairs, fire pit, hammocks, frisby golf and a giant Treehouse! Pets and kids have lots of room to play. The Treehouse is a separate structure that has 440 square feet of living area wrapped around a huge oak tree. You will need to climb stairs up into the tree. It’s a great place for visiting and relaxation. There is no sleeping area in the Treehouse, but the reclining lounge chairs are perfect for napping and using your laptop. The Treehouse is not a play structure and it is important that no one under 16 be allowed in the Treehouse without adult supervision. You can see more details in our Youtube video. The Hideaway Suite seen in the video is reserved for the owner and has a separate entrance. Our guesthouse works well for business travelers with each room having areas for laptops and business equipment. The lounge/dining area accommodates group meetings and collaborative work projects. Feedback from business travelers rates the location as both private and convenient. We do not allow parties or group events for people not staying on the property. Please contact me if you anticipate daytime visitors other than those who are staying at the Guesthouse. A daytime visitor will need to leave before 9pm. We have high speed fiber wireless internet serving multiple users. Netflicks is on the big screen TV in the lounge. A second TV is in the Master Suite. We have three local TV stations, but we do not have cable TV or premium channels. We sometimes allow guests to bring a dog. There is a $50 pet accommodation fee.. Please review our house rules for more info and contact me prior to booking to discuss how we can accommodate your dog. Make sure your pet is in flea medication. Guests have access to the entire complex that includes the kitchen, lounge, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, huge deck, two outdoor dining areas, a fire pit and treehouse. All of the bedroom areas are located on the main level of the house which has an entry with two stairs and a handrail. We have a private well-lighted parking lot with parking for 4-5 cars. Our location is less than 10 minutes from I-10 and I-49, as well as downtown, the University of Louisiana, Cajun Dome and the airport. Many of Lafayette’s favorite restaurants are less than 10 minutes drive. Lake Martin and Breaux Bridge are about 20 minutes away. Avery Island and the Tabasco Factory are about a 45 minute drive. Your group will have plenty of privacy at the Treehouse Guesthouse and we are available to assist you as needed. We have lots of recommendations about restaurants, music, dancing and local road trips. We give high priority to guest’s privacy, safety and comfort. You can use Uber/Lyft for a very reasonable cost. Guest access During your stay at Treehouse Guesthouse, there will be no other guests using the home. You have access to the entire complex that includes the kitchen, lounge, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, huge deck, fire pit & treehouse. All of the bedroom areas are located on the main level of the house. There are 2 steps from the ground level to the deck and house. Each bedroom area has great privacy and comfortable gel foam beds. The treehouse has stairs and is a separate structure that is 440 square feet of living area wrapped around a huge oak tree. Sleeping is not allowed in the Treehouse.
