The space You’ll be hosted by a single Mama of two and her housemates, who live above the private first floor apartment and in the basement. Kitchen is fully equipped. Our town boarders Cicero, Oak Park, Riverside and Stickney, IL as well as an abundant network of public forest preserves (a favorite calming escape from the hustle and bustle year round) The 20 min train ride to downtown is a hit for families who want to get the full city experience. From Union Station you will be near all forms of public transit and be a pleasant walking distance to downtown museums and attractions such as the Willis Tower, Fulton Market and Michigan Ave. If you’re looking for more low key ideas and kids activities, we are also parents of two small children, and have a curated list of our favorite things to do on a giant chalkboard, which we update seasonally in the Airbnb. The apartment is located in a 100+ year old victorian era farm house, and will sleep up to 4 adults. *Maximum Capacity for the entire apartment is 7 people. We are off the Harlem BNSF stop and you will want to select the fare going to Union Station. LAUNDRY ROOM: You’re welcome to use our detergent and supplies. If ever we are not home and our clothing is in the way, you are welcome to move it to the top of the machine. BUNK BEDROOM: The bunk room has a large closet with built in dresser drawers in the bed frame and kids desk. It sleeps up to two adults on the bottom, one on the top and there is a corduroy’s bean bag/ full floor mattress that pops out into a bed for extra sleeping surface. In this room you will also find a sound machine, train set and toys. FOUR POST BEDROOM: When we created this listing there might have been an audible gasp when we found this bed. With the Zenius foam mattress it’s even more comfy! You’ll also find an open closet rack for hanging clothing and additional storage space in the yellow bench. The fireplace is strictly ornamental but you’re welcome to light provided candles. THE KITCHEN: Stocked with all your cooking basics + Ninja coffee/espresso/fancy drink maker, water filter and counter space with barstools for socializing and preparing meals. You’ll also find a fully loaded BBQ grilling kit and marshmallow roasting sticks in the bottom cabinet to the left of the oven. ADDITIONAL CHILDREN'S ITEMS: We just purchased a baby monitor and a crib, which is located in the large closet/nook adjacent to the main bedroom. Umbrella Stroller and High Chair are available upon request. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berwyn is lovely! It’s quirky, small with lots of historic homes and close to Chicago, yet relatively unknown - that’s what we love about it. Upon arrival you will find a chalk board with a curated list of favorites for quick reference. We know you'll be hungry and might want take a run and/or move about. QUIET HOURS are from 8pm - 7am ***Our happiest guests have been families, solo travelers and early risers*** * Late night AND/OR non sober activities aren’t a good fit for this location - this includes all activities that would disturb our neighbors. * Our neighbors can and will contact us with any issues. *There is some potential for noise. ***Our toddler has a big voice and loud feet! We do our best to keep her quiet in the morning, but sometimes she has a will of her own. On the flip side this also means if your child happens to fuss while you’re here we get it. Toddlers get to be toddlers. *We can not, and do not allow parties or gatherings of any kind. This includes undisclosed people (not accounted for at time of booking) * For your safety and ours, we have cameras installed at the front and back of our property to ensure that only guests on the reservation enter the property. * Any guests that violate the party or undisclosed guest rule will be asked to leave immediately, and the booking will be cancelled without refund. * We do not allow smoking, vapes, marijuana or illegal substances or pets of any kind. *We also ask that you refrain from: using hair dye, glitter, slime, dragging interior furniture out onto the front porch. *If an issue should ever arises, or if something is compromising your comfort and/or safety, please let us know right away. HOT TUB: There is no lifeguard here. Use at your own risk. Please do not allow children to swim unattended. Consult your doctor or health professional for guidance on temperature safety. Parking is available in front of our home, and is free with provided parking pass. ❤️ Please enjoy the gardens and play spaces. We’ve had success with this so far, but once or twice unsupervised children have done significant damage to our blooms.
