Hacienda del Sol is 10,000+ sq ft of ancient adobe, situated on 1.5 acres of matures trees with prettiest view of Taos Mtn, adjacent to the Taos Pueblo. Built in 1804, this was Mabel Doge and Tony Luhan's firsts home together, during the 1930's. Guests have included Georgia O'Keefe, Ansel Adams, Willa Cather, DH Lawrence, etc. We are a Boutique Bed + Breakfast that combines this unique property with updated amenities, delicious complimentary breakfast and hip local staff. The space The Southwest Villa is a large, beautiful apartment style unit used by prior owners as their primary residence. It includes: designated parking spot, private entrance, private back patio, brand new platform king bed (& twin bed), luxury sheets / towels / pillows / soaps / shampoos, woodburning kiva fireplace, private bathroom with tiled steam shower, jetted bathtub, Saltillo tile floors, Latilla ceiling with Vigas, living room with sofas / kiva / large smart TV, kitchen with fridge / freezer. stove, microwave, coffee, etc etc. Our exceptional, complimentary breakfast is served in the main house from 7:30-9 am. Our property is about 1.5 acres, and adobe structure encompass over 10,000 sq ft. Common areas include the library / lounge where great thinkers have done their thing for many years, dining area for breakfast, a big clean hot tub with a signup sheet for privacy, back lawn to daydream in the cottonwoods and second lawn to take in the majestic views. Guest access Your unit, Southwest Villa, has a private entrance, patio, living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and parking. If you want to explore the common areas, you are welcome to. Or, you can stay in your own space. Breakfast is served communally in the kitchen from 7:30-9 am daily. Staff is onsite most of the time if you have any questions or needs. Other things to note We are 1 mile from the center of Taos, in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood called El Prado. Cids market (local, organic, etc,) is 5 minute walk, as is the Cellar (exceptional wine / beer / spirits). Arroyo Seco (enchanting small town with food, art and shopping) is 15 minute drive away from town. Taos Ski Valley is about 20 mins drive beyond Arroyo Seco. Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is 15 minute drive. Ojo Caliente Hot Springs about 30 minutes past the Rio Grande Bridge. Santa Fe is about 1:45 drive. Many great shops, restaurants, galleries, museums. Lots to do and see in the area!
