The space Sleepy Lagoon is an incredibly picturesque, park-like property that offers 18 acres just minutes from shopping, dining, and outdoor activities in Downtown Covington. When you enter the gates of Sleepy Lagoon, driving up the long, azalea-lined driveway, past a barn, fenced paddock, and an expansive green space rife with oak, pine and magnolia trees, you immediately forget the busy streets you just left behind. Next, you pull up to a beautiful fountain in the center of the majestic koi pond that flows into the lagoon below from which the property gets its name. The lagoon is dotted with cypress trees and live oaks and winds throughout the property. Wooden bridges and lighted, elevated walkways along the water beckon guests to take a stroll around. At the end of the driveway sits The Cottage, welcoming you with its front porch swing and ceiling fans. Inside, you'll find a spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath home that was completely renovated in April 2020. (There is also a separate small bedroom area with a twin daybed with twin trundle just off the master bedroom upstairs. The master and small daybed room both share the upstairs bath.) The Cottage offers all the amenities of home, from all necessary cookware, serving ware and appliances in the kitchen to extra linens and towels for each bedroom. The den and all three bedrooms feature wall mounted Smart TVs with high speed internet connection. A brand new washer and drier set can be found in the laundry area just beyond the breakfast table. The Cottage has a carport and ample space for extra parking. There is a charcoal bbq grill (charcoal and lighter fluid provided), as well as a large Blackstone griddle for you to enjoy. If you're wanting to explore even more of the grounds, you'll want to stroll to the back of the property, where you'll find the cliffs overlooking the Little Bogue Falaya River. A walkway allows you to travel down to the water where you can enjoy the feel of the white sandy beaches under your feet and the relaxing sounds of the babbling water in your ears. This is insured outside of Airbnb and is included in your nightly rate. *The Cottage is Pet Friendly! (Dogs only, maximum of 3.) The pet fee is NOT included in the nightly rate. Pups will be charged $25 per night, per pup, with a maximum fee of $250 total. The pet fee(s) will be requested through the Airbnb Resolution Center on the day of check in. Guest access Feel free to stroll around and take in the landscape. You can relax in the patio areas around the pond near the front homes, and enjoy the decks, bridges and walkways around the lagoon. Feel free to bring your poles and bait and fish in the Lagoon (but please catch and release only!) And if you walk to the back of the property, you will come to a hill that leads down to a bluff overlooking the Little Bogue Falaya River. Take a right and walk further, and you have access to enjoy to riverbank itself. There are often sandy white beaches where you can sit and enjoy the very best of Louisiana nature! Other things to note The property is quite secluded, yet three short miles from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Covington! Sleepy Lagoon is perfect for small weddings, family reunions, retreats, and small events for an extra fee. There is another home on the property that is not listed on Airbnb. sleepylagoonla. You will see a "Management Fee" of $38 charged to your booking. This covers your insurance policy for throughout your stay issued through Safely. You will be covered for up to $10,000 in contents coverage for any accidental damage, as well as up to $1M in personal liability coverage. We do allow dogs under certain circumstances for an additional pet fee of $25 per dog, per night (with a cap of $250). Please inquire when requesting to book! The property backs up to the Bogue Falaya River and we have a small sandy beach for you to enjoy! You are also welcome to explore all 30 acres of Sleepy Lagoon and enjoy the decks, seating areas, fishing, etc. We provide dog friendly amenities such as water/food bowl, shampoo and towels, treats, a large kennel, hair and stain remover, leash, waste bags, and an extra large blanket for pups who like to be on beds/sofa. :)
