The space The focal point of the spacious living room is the welcoming stone fireplace and massive timbers spanning the length of the room. In the spring, summer & fall, the backyard neighboring property is home to extensive wildlife including red wing blackbirds, ducks and geese. There is an office nook upstairs, as well as a kids play room with toys and books. Each downstairs bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, and the upstairs loft has both a king and a full bed. Each bedroom is directly adjacent to a bathroom. Note, there is no door on the loft but it is visually private from the living space. There is a 'traditional' (i.e. not log cabin) flex-space above the garage that can be unlocked for guest use, if requested. While we do not allow guests to sleep in this space, it is a great place for a workout, quiet space for work or separation from the rest of the house, etc. It has a basic desk and chairs, heat and A/C. Please note it does not have a bathroom. Also, the garage is not for guest use. Thank you. Guest access The entire home is available for guest use. Please let us know if you would like to use the flex-space above the garage. The garage is not available for guest use. Other things to note Please acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to abide by the house rules, before you book. Note that this home is in a quiet residential neighborhood, with longtime homeowner families nearby, and we take great care to ensure a harmonious existence of this vacation rental with their established homes. In other words, this is NOT a party house and noisy groups will be noticed and not tolerated. No parties, pets or ESA's please. The legal working hours in Bend are 7:00 AM to 5 PM, though we have observed 8-8:30 is when things get going and they are almost always done and quiet by 4 PM. Kids will enjoy the machinery - but note that if sleeping in late and/or midday naps are your goals - this might be an issue for you. The primary bedroom, being in the front of the house, is quite well isolated from noise. Update: As of August 2024, very little construction activity is occurring. Wildfire smoke is a significant risk in the mid-summer to late fall in the PNW, especially east of the Cascades. Please note that both Airbnb (and by extension, us as hosts) can not predict or control the weather or the smoke, and neither of these are considered grounds for exceptions to the refund policy. If you want a more flexible cancellation policy due to air quality/smoke, we recommend purchasing travel insurance through Airbnb, which is offered to you during the booking process. If your time in Bend is impacted by smoke, we are happy to help you make the best of it—there are often times of day or parts of the surrounding area that are far less smoky than others. We live here and understand the challenge.
