Adjacent to Blodgett Canyon and Canyon Creek, there is excellent access to the Forest Sevice lands 5 minutes west. Hamilton, a full service community town is 8 minutes away by car. The Bitterroot is world renowned for its river and mountain beauty, Wilderness, trout fishing, natural hot springs, and hiking, the Lewis and Clark historical route, the Nez Perce Trail and the Lolo Trail, a Copper Kings Mansion and estate, farmers markets and is on the Powder Highway 93 that runs from Sun Valley, Idaho and the Sawtooth Recreation Area past the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, Flathead Lake, Glacier National Park and on into Canada and Banff, Yoho, and Jasper National Parks. Yurts are tents with little insulation. Guest access Guests can access the downstairs of the home for bathroom, shower, laundry facilities, water, and wifi. Guests are welcome to wander on the 20 acre property and down to Putnam Creek. Yurts are originally conceived and used by the nomadic people of Mongolia and are essentially tents. This yurt has a solid wooden floor and spacious deck and is heated only by a woodstove. With little insulation to retain the heat, guests will need to snuggle down into the copious amount of bedding or plan to stoke the fire every 3-4 hours during the cooler nights encountered potentially any day of the year. On summer days the interior of the yurt may get hot during the day. There is only a fan for cooling. Other things to note There's a wood stove for heat in the yurt. Guests will need to split and haul wood and make and maintain the fire during the cooler nights from late August potentially through June some years. Sometimes forest fire danger coincides with cool weather and guests will have to be extremely careful with fire or rely on heavy bedding only. Pets are allowed with a $35 fee and must not be left alone in yurt ever. There is no air conditioning only a fan. There is a table with chairs. There's limited electricity with some lights, electric kettle, mini fridge, water jug, a few utensils, and cups and serving and wash bowls. Picnic table and outside furniture and swing.
