The Healing Earth Temple
Hostel style living at an Afrikan Yoga Temple in the semi-rural, yet highly accessible Greater Accra area. The Healing Earth Temple is everything that you need if you are looking for a clean, warm, nurturing, creative and eco-friendly living space while you are enjoying your stay in Ghana. This modern yet eco-friendly living space is on a 1 1/2 acre plot and has a series of vegetable gardens and even a plantain farm! Also, it is only a 30 minute trotro ride from the Temple to downtown Accra! The space The Healing Earth Temple is an Afrikan Yoga Living Sanctuary in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana (Bordering the Eastern Region). Hostel style living allows our guests to interact with adventurous travelers from around the world. Located off the beaten path, The Healing Earth Temple is in a private semi-rural, yet accessible area of Greater Accra. The Temple is on 1.5 acres of lush green, manicured paths and food gardens. On the land, we have a series of mini gardens which boast tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, onion, maize, bell pepper and over fifty plantain trees. There is also a fire pit for evening drumming sessions and relaxing under the stars. At the back of the Temple, there is a stream that has its origins in the mountains of the Eastern Region. The foothills of those mountains can be seen rolling in the distance. The Temple has an onsite Yoga instructor & Twi language instructor. At an additional cost, our guests can enjoy onsite yoga classes, in addition to African dance and drumming lessons and Twi Language lessons. Breakfast is provided for guests each day at no additional charge. There are two dormitories at the Healing Earth Temple and we can accommodate up to eleven guests at any given time. The first dormitory consists of a double bed and a bunk bed. This dormitory can hold three guests or four if a couple shares the double bed and has a shared bathroom and its own sitting area. In the second dormitory, there are two three stack bunk beds and one double stacked bunkbed. This dormitory can hold a total of eight guests and has its own bathroom and sitting area. The large hall (living room) allows guest to congregate and enjoy conversation and ideas. The Temple has a fully equipped, modern kitchen which has a standard size refrigerator, a gas stove top, blender & ample cupboard space. The Kitchen and Hall are both common/shared space in the Temple, in addition to the small porch at the entrance of the Temple, which has a small sitting area for three. The large porch at the side of the Temple is used for Yoga & meditation sessions. The Temple Garden is divided into smaller tracts scattered around the 1 1/2 acre plot. At the back of the temple are the maize & okra gardens. The Temple is in a very quiet and peaceful area. Everyone in the area knows each other and are very friendly. It is custom to greet as you meet your neighbors up and down the road each day. The Temple is about a 15 min walk to the main road where you can catch a trotro (minivan) that will take you to downtown Accra for less than $1. The Temple is also about a 10 min walk to another main road where you can have access to local food vendors and restaurants, grooming shops, fruit stands, taxis, guests houses and more. Guest access Guest will have access to the dormitory in which they are staying and all commons areas including the hall (living room), the kitchen, the front porch (sitting area), the side porch (Yoga & meditation space) and the gardens around the Temple.
