A Little bit of Paradise @ Summit Hill Gardens
Summit Hill Gardens Cottage, a little bit of paradise, is a place to enjoy solitude, peace and quiet. Located rurally (3 miles south of Chanute, Ks), we are listed as one of the top ten attractions with numerous flower beds, a historic 1874 stone schoolhouse, a Retail Soap Shop located in a restored barn (handcrafted soaps are made here on site), and the Summit Hill Gardens Event Center- for hosting celebrations of life. The space Part of the charm of this property is its history. The name for my property, Summit Hill, comes from the school that was built on this site in 1874 and is restored. Travel and art have been a large part of my life. The cottage reflects that with molas from the Kuna Indians, the shoe collection and the India festival banner. Guest access Guests are welcome to take walks on the property, read a book on a swing, or sit on their patio and drink coffee. There is a playground/swing set south of the garage that your children can play on. Bikes are available to ride. Runners often take a run on the gravel road. By request, the retail soap shop will be opened for shopping to buy a unique gift from Kansas! Soap demo's and sugar scrub workshops are available with advance bookings (approx. 2 weeks) and the stone school house is available for tours with advanced notice. There is a charge for the sugar scrub workshop and the schoolhouse tour. Other things to note We are located 3 miles south of Chanute. Phone reception and wifi on the hill here are a bit spotty. There is no tv in the cottage. There is a coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven and an apartment sized refrigerator for your convenience. Handmade soaps will be provided!
