We've been all over the country in our skoolie/bus conversion/tiny home on wheels(or whatever you call them!), and have decided to share it with others!! The smells of cedar and other exotic woods will inspire you! We're minutes from Callaway Gardens, FDR State Park, and Pine Mountain Trails. See our Guidebook in the Air BnB app for lots of cool recommendations for you and your family!! But of course, the real attraction is getting away from everything and having a nice cozy stay!! The space In the summer, keeping a bus cool is a task, so please try and keep the door closed as much as possible as once the bus gets hot in the heat of the day, it is a battle to cool it back off until dark. If it gets too hot, we suggest a nice swim in the lake! It's taken about a few years to get to this point, working on it sometimes at 4am, between traveling, making a living building busses for clients, raisin a family, traveling, tending a big yard and garden, remodeling our home, traveling, and lots of cussing. And it still isn't finished. But it's completely off grid capable, and has stood the test of about 50k miles in the last 3 years. Our family of six has been to about 30+ states, elevations above 16000', up mountains, down mountains, through mountains, around mountains, east coast to west coast, south Florida to Upper Peninsula, Michigan. We've changed our oil twice in Colorado, on two different trips, both times in a Walmart parking lot. Once with the help of my son in Grand Junction, and the other time with help from a "mobile mechanic" in Denver with a ankle bracelet on, man, was that fun, and HILARIOUS lol. We've been on logging roads in national forests we had no business taking such a large vehicle on, outer tires hanging off cliffside roads with drops you can see tops of redwoods below, yeah, that far down. We've stealth camped under numerous bridges overlooking rivers and the lit up cities across the water, once in the Salt plains in Oklahoma, where security locked us in, so we dug for selenite crystals late into the night, and made drone videos that looked like lunar landings. I could go on and on about the various adventures we've had in our little home on wheels, and yet, we have so many more to have. Would you like to make some memories in The Blackbird as well?? Guest access Feel free to use any of the space around the bus, have a walk down to the lake, or the wildflower and sunflower field near the bus!! Wifi now works on the tv in the bus and we have our Amazon Prime Video account added to the TV. The sitting area right outside the bus is close enough to our home wifi to do some social media stuff, email, and streaming as well. Please don't access areas near house or let pets roam as we have 1 cat(Dren) and 2 German Shepherds (Thor and Loki) on our property that mostly stay around the house, although our dogs have access down to our lake as they love to swim and play there too cool off. Cameras are not near the bus, but they do surround our home. Other things to note Although we have wifi available at the bus, it doesn't always connect well to some phones. The signal isn't the greatest because the distance from our home to the bus, but this gives you a unique opportunity to disconnect a little bit from the distractions of the electronic/internet world and enjoy the many other things the world around us offers!! The sleeping arrangements in our living room can be customized to your preferences thanks to two drop down hammock bunks and the couch being made up of 4 tri-fold travel mattresses. Feel free to rearrange or throw a few of the tri-folds on the floor for optimal comfort. We commute to Columbus sometimes so in addition to things to do here, we've included many options from the Columbus area as well. Check out our Guidebook here in the Air BnB app!! When fall hits, we remove the portable air conditioner, to make more room in the bus, so feel free to open up windows and turn on the fans to let the nice breeze inside!
