North Old Town, private - humble, peaceful and serene—guest quarters.
Enjoy the peaceful feel of country on an original homesteaded farm. The home is divided (we live in main house) and your space is the back/upstairs portion of the house, with locked private entrance. Perfect for CSU visits. Biking distance to festive Old Town restaurants/shopping, breweries, and the Poudre River. Base camp for RMNP, Denver, WY. Small family dog considered with $100/day fee (crate trained and not left alone for more than 2 hours). 2 house bikes are available for guests use. The space Our home is older, simple, and surrounded by peaceful beauty. This is a former farm established in 1902, and the house is divided (we live in one half). It is surrounded by pastures, yet close to Old Town and the Poudre River Trail (10 minutes). Three night MAXIMUM stay. PLEASE INQUIRE FIRST ABOUT PET BEFORE SENDING BOOKING REQUEST. No smoking. The houses was added on to over the years, and the newer section has been sectioned/locked off for separate private guest quarters, which includes the back portion of the house and the entire upstairs. Its a little hard to explain, but your space includes our large sun-room which houses the washer and dryer, and we've added a NO-COOK kitchenette with small refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave and toaster, with a small kitchen table, and also a two seat bar top, and a desk work area. It is perfect for people on the go, needing only warming up leftovers, as there is no “lounging” area. We do have a barbecue grill and amenities for you to enjoy if you’d like to cook small meals. There is NO AC but lots of fans.. The two private bedrooms and bath are up 14 steep stairs. One queen bed and one full bed and we also have a blowup mattress that is full size. (Front bedroom is large and can accommodate the mattress on the floor). A private entrance from the backyard is by key. There are picnic table and chairs, and horseshoe pit to enjoy out back. An outdoor paver patio area is exclusively yours to use, (we use a deck off the side of the house). There is an expansive backyard that we share with local dear, bunnies, raccoons and others. There is lots of off street parking, and a covered carport. Owner has a business Workshop on site (social enterprise of diverting valuable household resources from landfill, supporting local non-profits, and upcycling to local community) which should not interfere with the guests, or any enjoyment of the backyard and gardens. Owners would love interaction at guests’ requests, and are always available for local suggestions, and will be in residence of the main house during guests' stay. Please note: there is no Air Conditioning, but lots of fans. Guest access Guests share the garden, yard and pastures. We live in the main house, some noise could be heard. There is an exclusive no-cook kitchenette area for guests to enjoy coffee, snacks and use of mini refrigerator. Coffee, tea, cream are provided. A take one-leave-one local only beer tradition prevails. We have an outdoor barbecue grill for guest use. Two upstairs bedrooms and bathroom, dedicated workspace and sun room are for exclusive guest use, with private entrance. The space is especially perfect for visiting CSU students and parents as there are two separate bedrooms. It is also ideal for people who are exploring the award winning restaurants in town and can warm up leftovers in the microwave. Lounging in this space is limited to tables, chairs and barstools, but no couches. Our yard and garden has camping chairs, picnic table, and Adirondack chairs to hang out and relax. There’s no A/C but lots of fans. Wi-Fi and Roku available. Other things to note The Charmhouse guest quarters shares property Owner in residence with a Workshop during the summer months, which would not impact the privacy of the guest quarters, backyard, gardens and pasture at all. Parking areas are separate, with plenty of parking and room for guests staying in house. We welcome one small crate trained four legged family member with an added rental fee. A limit of 2 hours left alone is requested, as it breaks our hearts to hear your pet cry for you. We are really tucked away, so please make sure I have given you explicit directions to find us-- maps are misleading! We share the private easement to gain access to our property with our only neighbor, whom we adore! Please drive slowly on the easement as you pass their house in order to get our home.
