We are retired counselors who love to travel & meet fellow travelers! Our home is a one story ranch-style house with a separate guest wing. It is quiet, very clean, and comfortable. In summer, guests may want to enjoy the large deck &/ or screened gazebo for having a meal, drinks or just relaxing. They are several gardens to look at or walk through. In late Summer or early Autumn guests are welcome to pick apples in the small orchard. In winter, a warm fire & hot chocolate welcomes you. The space We have a quiet and comfortable home in a quaint town located near the interstate. Manteno is a 45 minute drive south of downtown Chicago. We are retired natives of Chicago & still enjoy taking the 1 hour train ride (from University Park) to enjoy the city. However, we prefer the quiet slow-paced everyday country life! Guest access Guests have private bedroom & full bathroom plus access to kitchen, living/great room, downstairs rec room with ping pong table. Also, in good weather, guests may enjoy a large deck and screened-in gazebo with comfy seating and an umbrella table to eat, drink or just relax. No other guests are booked at the same time so the the bedroom & bathroom are totally private. We occupy a separate wing of the home. During your stay We respect guests’ privacy but will be available to provide information or directions to area restaurants, parks, etc Other things to note The guest room has a trundle bed with 2 separate mattresses on 2 frames that are comfortable for an adult or a child. Electric blankets for cold weather upon request There is a closet for clothing to hang with multiple hangers plus a dresser for additional storage. Breakfast snacks for guests daily. Fresh brewed coffee & a variety of teas provided. Keurig hot chocolate available as well.
