Our house is nestled between the shore of the NE River and the creek and marsh directly behind. The home is warm, unassuming and inviting; you'll feel right at home. Perfect for familes or groups, or a romantic weekend. Bird watchers will love the bald eagles, ospreys, kingfishers, mallards and cormorants, to name a few. The upstairs living room is a perfect place for the kids while the adults enjoy the lower area. You find our place warm, cozy and quiet. The space The living room, distinguished by it's open beam ceiling, is the original full cottage (Note the window of glass block to the left of the TV). It was built, as far as we can tell, sometime in the 30s or 40s. The kitchen area was added later as was the two story bedroom section to the right of the stairs. The previous owner, Capt. James Curlott, was a pilot for Capitol Air. He and his wife, Gail added the large upstairs living room for his teenage kids and their friends (which included me) in the 70s. I bought the place in 2005, moved some walls, reconfigured some spaces, and added the upstairs balconies for better views of our beautiful North East River, and creek and marsh to the back. I think the house and the property as a whole are unique and very private. Guest access When booking the full house, guests have access to the full house. One of the advantages we have is for multiple family stays, or stays with children. Simply closing the door at the foot of the stairs turns the house into 2 fully operational units complete with kitchen, bath and living room and a separate entrance. I've been told that parents enjoy giving the kids their own space. Go figure.
