Glamping- Camping in a fully weatherized screen house overlooking the waterfalls on the grounds of the Historic Starksboro Millhouse. New fullXL 10 inch cooling memory foam mattress/ bed certipur certified. We provide single or double LL Bean flannel sleeping bags . No gear . No problem. Hot shower. Private toilet. Grill. Outdoor kitchen. The perfect retreat or romantic getaway for two. Third person ok if it works as a double and single The space There is no light pollution . The night sky can be amazing. There is very little ambient noise , only the sound of the river. A "natural jacuzzi " in the river adjacent to the campsite is a great way to take a quick dip conditions permitting. The water is pristine . Campers can shower (hot) in the outdoor cedar shower on the Deck. Towels, soap and shampoo are provided. There is a port o let bathroom adjacent to the campsite. The old coke machine on the deck serves as an extra large cooler as needed. There is a small refrigerator in the outdoor kitchen. Cook over wood in the fireplace at the campsite or use the gas grill on the deck. A wood fire will be all ready for you when you arrive. All you need to do is light it . You may burn as much wood as you care to. The deck and waterfalls can all be lit up at the flick of a few switches at night. There are flashlights in the screen house for your use. There is also a hanging light and electric lights that can be turned on/ off from bed. Foul weather no problem. Note that there is no prison. The name is historical. There is wireless internet on the deck and in the Millhouse. Breakfast is included on the deck or at your site. Guest access You can park right along the stone walls near the campsite. There is an old logging road across the road that leads to some beautiful high meadows and into the Hogback Mountains. Someone will always be available- day or night, to assist with any need you might have. Other things to note Camping open May through October. Not suitable for dogs or young children due to the extreme nature of the landscape. You don't need any of your own camping gear. If you didn't bring it we likely have it.
