The grounds include an in-ground swimming pool, pond, mature gardens and organic vegetable garden. The house is tastefully decorated with antiques and artwork. Living room has wood burning fireplace and adjacent Finnish sauna. The house has three bedrooms and can sleep five. NO additional people without prior permission. There will a $65.00 fee per additional person per night. There is a bathroom on each floor. Each of the three bedrooms may be booked separately. (see my other listings for details) The "Candlestick" Guest Room contains an antique single bed . The "Butter and Cream" Guest Room has an double antique brass bed. Both bedrooms are appointed with additional antique furnishings. The "Sunset Meadow" Guest Room has a queen size brass bed with beautiful views of the gardens, pond. meadows and hills .If you prefer a more private experience the entire house can be booked. Please be aware that rates change on weekends and holidays . Summer rates also apply. The house is located 2 hours from Manhattan, equidistant between Hudson, NY and Great Barrington MA. and easily accessible from the Taconic Parkway. Enjoy fine dining, shopping, antiquing in nearby Hudson NY, Egremont MA, or Great Barrington MA. Nearby cultural interests include: Olana, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Norman Rockwell Museum, Mass Moca to name a few. Outdoor activities during the Spring, Summer and Fall include biking, golfing, fishing, bird watching ,hiking and of course apple picking. During the winter ski Catamount only 10 mins away and/or Butternut in nearby Great Barrington. Cross Country enthusiasts can choose to ski the beautiful Taconic State Park which is nearby. This is a pet friendly property. There are multiple animals in household. NOT ideal for people with pet allergies. Pet sitting services available at additional cost. The house is over 200 years old and NOT CHILDPROOF. However, this home is a perfect choice for families with children if they enjoy swimming in a pool, rolling down a hill, trying to catch frogs in a pond, feeding ducks and chickens, and gathering fresh eggs for breakfast. While visiting why not spend the evening in and make use of the kitchen, eating in the warm cozy kitchen or formal dining room. In the summer, why not barbecue and eat outside poolside, watching the sun set.
