Gardener's Delight with Quiet Privacy
We ask that all guests be vaccinated for COVID as long as it remains a threat. The guest room is decorated with Southwestern rugs and pottery and a comfortable queen bed. Your own bath is just down the hall. We share the living room, dining room and you're even welcome to use the kitchen. We do provide a hearty breakfast each morning. Being rural (dark at night), we ask that you check in before 7 p.m. if you are attending an event which will have you return to our home after 9 p.m. No pets. The space This is one of two listings in our home. Check out the other - Gardener’s Delight w/ En-suite. We are situated on 3.3 acres which include a lavender field, small orchard and berries as well as extensive ornamental gardens. There is also a 2 acre former pasture which has been planted as forest. Still small, but growing steadily. You are welcome to wander the property, sit and enjoy, pick some fruit if you're here at the right time of year or even help with the lavender harvest. our property is just across the street from the McKenzie River and just a short walk to the boat landing in case you’d like to fish or kayak/canoe (bring your own equipment). There are a few stairs into the home, 2 in front or four in back and 3 up to the bedrooms. Guest access Our home is located about 17 miles into the McKenzie River Recreational area. We are 4 properties from the boat launch...about 200 yards. The Leaburg Canal Trail and McKenzie River Trail for bikers/hikers are nearby. The McKenzie River Recreational Area offers outdoor activities of all kinds - biking, hiking, fishing, forest wandering, birding... and a couple of nearby hot springs. The Leaburg Salmon Hatchery is next door and we have a private gate to the hatchery property. The fry are fed every morning, released in the Winter and the eggs are harvested in the Fall. Self guided tours open all year long. The Leaburg Dam and Lake is just up the road (3 miles) and is a great place for a picnic, fishing /boating. During your stay We are a liberal minded couple who loves to travel and meet new people. And we also love to create a space that is comfortable to live in. We share our lives with a long haired cat who comes and gos freely. He’ll explore any room with an open door, so keep your’s closed if you don’t want him invading. We share the space with our guests and will be available to answer questions. The home isn't super large, but there is plenty of room to wander. Other things to note While our Master is in a different part of the home, there is a second bedroom across the hall which may be occupied. We would ask that you be respectful and quiet in the room in the evening. We will do the same if we are up before you in the morning. Breakfast is usually served between 8 and 9.
