Vermont cabin on a brook close to White Mountains
Whether you’re looking for a peaceful place to get away, or an adventure in the mountains, our cabin by the brook is the perfect stay! It’s a 2/2 plus a den with a full size futon, and a queen pullout couch. There’s 3 fire pits! Enjoy fishing in the brook, relaxing in the hammock, hiking, biking & camping. Located in the NEK, minutes away from NH/Santa’s Village, and 3 miles from the CT River. 1 hour from Maine. Direct VAST access during winter. Find us on IG to see more @cabin on the brook The space The cabin is a hidden gem; located almost halfway down an 8 mile dirt road with Mountain Views, but only a 10 minutes from a state road, the Connecticut river, 15 minutes away from Lancaster, New Hampshire, with gas stations, a grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops, a bakery, medical center, mechanics, and more. Less than 30 minutes from Maidstone State Park, Weeks State park, Victory State Forest, Whitefield and Santa’s Village!! See my guidebook for more suggestions of attractions nearby. We offer 3 fire pits, 2 that are safe to use on the deck, 1 that can also be used as a grill, and the other by the brook. Guests have also enjoyed fishing small trout at the brook. Just bring your own fishing rod. 2 Pop-up tents available for camping in the backyard as well. Each bed has a bed bug encasement and double waterproof mattress pads for your comfort. Bed pillows also have a protector underneath the sham/case. There’s 3 smart TVs, each with a DVD player. There’s free WiFi through our Starlink. We also have a collection of DVD movies for your stay. We do spray the place for pests, and we also use ultrasonic pest machines throughout the house. But please keep in mind that this is a cabin located in the woods. SEASONS: We’re on a dirt road that gets maintained year-round, but after rainy weather, there may be pot holes and mud. Please drive slowly. Once it starts snowing and raining, an ice sheet may form on the driveway. Despite pouring salt, there may still be slippery spots. Please walk carefully. We provide ice cleats in mudroom for lending. Once heavy snow starts to set, the driveway will be plowed. Please park off to the side. There is direct VAST access from the cape once trails are open for snowmobiling. Please check current trail updates. Due to the natural elements surrounding the cabin and the location, you might see a variety of insects, rodents and wildlife year round. Including field mice, moose and black bears. The cabin offers a unique experience that truly defines a mountain/forest getaway. Guest access 24 hours prior to your stay, we will provide you with a code to the lockbox. You can park anywhere in the front yard during non-snowy conditions. Once it starts snowing, please park as close to the mudroom as possible, so the plow truck can get through both entrances to plow driveway. There is currently no wheelchair access into the cabin. There are video doorbells located at each door for the safety of guests, cleaning crew, and to monitor wildlife. Other things to note This is our family’s home-away-from-home, but we’re happy to share it with others while we’re not living in it. Please use it with care & respect. We do pay a crew to clean between guest use, which is why we have a cleaning fee. You are helping local families ❤️ The garage is not available for guest use, unless in an emergency. Please contact the host if needed. The downstairs bunk bed room doesn’t have a door, but there’s a curtain for privacy. Next to the bunk bed room is the den which has a futon, there’s no door for this room either, but we have provided a foldable room divider for privacy. For stays longer than 1 week, we only provide a starter pack of the basics such as toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, etc. there’s a couple stores within 15 minutes where you can purchase more for your stay. WILDLIFE: Please DO NOT feed the black bears if you see one. Don’t leave trash outside. In the distance, you might hear others hunting or target practicing. It’s nothing to worry about. Please do not use steps to the bridge in the backyard during winter. WIFI: We offer free WiFi through Starlink. There are some DVDs available to use for the DVD players available in 3 rooms; as well as games, books, and puzzles. THE KITCHEN: equipped with many basic cooking and baking necessities, such as a toaster oven, regular toaster, crockpot, milk warmer/frother, tea kettle, coffee maker, blender, wine glasses, plenty of pots and pans, serving trays, pancake, waffle mini griddles. There might be left over spices and dry ingredients in the cabinet, as well as in the fridge leftover by other guests. Please use at your own discretion. We throw away expired items.
