My place is in Madison's favorite neighborhood. It is 3 blocks from beautiful Lake Monona and has great cafes, grocery stores, art, culture, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love it here because of the location, coziness, beautiful gardens, and people. It's good for solo adventurers, business travelers, couples, and families with children of all ages. The Serene room has a desk, large closet, a view of the flower garden, and a queen-size bed for your comfort. The space I affectionately call my place the Cozy Palace. People say it has some kind of cozy charm. I feel the wood floors and older furniture along with the colorful rugs, walls, decor, inside twinkly lights, and gardens on all sides make it very comfortable home and living experience. The living room has a comfortable sectional couch, 2 comfy big chairs (one is a rocker), a piano, a smart TV, and a great view. The dining room table works beautifully for 2-4 guests, and also expands to seat 10 people, if you want to have a larger dinner party. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and baking. There are a few basic ingredients, in addition to a selection of tea, as well. It has a tea pot, French coffee press and coffee grinder. I have been here almost 25 years and put in a lot of love and care, and hope you'll enjoy it too! It's very important to me that your time in Madison is satistying, so please let me know how I can help you have a great stay. Guest access In addition to bedroom space there is a dining room, kitchen and full bathroom. Ask about using my second room if you have a need for another room, or slightly less expensive room. A washer and dryer are in the basement that guests may use for not extra cost. There are clothes lines outside. There is a small front porch, a larger back patio you can use, as well as flower and vegetable gardens surrounding both. Also I have a garage if there is a need to store or lock a bicycle or other items. I have an extra bike you could use if you need it. During your stay I follow the wishes of each guest as to how much interaction they wish to have with me, and how much they may want to talk when we do see each other. I respect privacy, and am more than willing to warmly welcome and provide directions, ideas, and guidance for getting the most enjoyment out of Madison and their visit. I live and work in the basement and sometimes use the apartment shower when the guests are not using it. I also come up to get my mail, do repairs or improvements. Sometimes I might like to host a dinner party and would certainly discuss this with you beforehand. Other things to note I have a wonderful cat named Buttercup that wanders through the house, including your apartment. Enter in the back door off of Ohio Ave. Please remove your shoes in hallway before entering my home. I have written a thorough house manual that you'll find on this site once you make your reservation. And you'll find a written copy of it in your room when you arrive.
