Dependent on arrival time, there is a reception office adjacent to the entrance to register your party. Parking is limited and is first come first serve, however there is seldom am issue. Speed varies but is generally around 20mbps or more * Alexa Communication available (requires account) * All property emergency repairs are handled by contacting the host Guest access Guests will enjoy close proximity, (a five minute oceanside walk)to the Malecon aka boardwalk, which extends all the way from El Faro (the lighthouse) to one of our favorite and slightly weird eats, Casa de Langosta at the far end of the village. The Malecon is filled with restaurants, Ice cream shops, bakeries, shopping, great coffee shops and vendors of all types. The ocean occupies one side of the Malecon and hotels, bars ,vendors, and shops the other. Parking is included here at the Villa and is secured via gate and cameras, as well as on-site security personal. It is first come first serve however this is rarely an issue as most guest arrive by taxi or chauffer. Additional parking is located on the street. There are only three small communities on this road, so there is very little traffic, especially being that the road dead ends into the Cruise Port complex a few hundred meters past the Villas and is not accessible via the public. Your welcome package includes several numbers for Taxi's and Delivery services should you require them. Safety: * Crime is seldom around here other than petty theft. Serious crimes do occur but so seldom that you cant remember the last time they occurred. See the welcome package for more detailed knowledge and good practices. As with anywhere in our world, women walking alone at night is never a smart idea, although it is seen here daily with no issue. In 6 years living here I have heard of only 1 rape victim (that's too many), and 2 or 3 mugging victims. All these were attacks on females walking alone after 1 am. Mahahual, especially the Malecon is widely considered as very safe. Most nights you see school kids riding bikes, and playing late nights everywhere. Its one of the reasons i fell in love with the place and now call her home. ** Caution - Located across the street from the Villas are the wetlands. Mosquitos like to come out on non-windy days at dawn and dusk. Walking on the road during these times is strongly not advised. *** Caution - Although extremely rare in sightings, in the last 6 years there has been one sighting of a Jaguar in this area, and 3 or four sightings of Crocodiles in this area. None of which resulted in anything other than great photos and vacation stories, however we want our guest to be vigilant and in the know.
