Clear instructions are provided for those new to using lockboxes. Guest access • You’ll be staying in a private room with its own entrance and no access to the main house—a studio-like unit with a private bathroom, patio, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and hot water kettle. • One off-street parking spot is included. * The street has weekday permit parking, with street sweeping on Fridays from 12-4 PM. • Our neighbors are quiet (and 70+ years old), ensuring peaceful nights. • La Palma is a small, family-friendly suburb, safe and walkable at all hours. • We are lucky to be living in one of the cleanest and safest cities around, which makes it walkable at all hours. Other things to note My wife, Elysia, our pup Skye, and I live here and work remotely (while Skye sleeps, of course). We’ve done our best to soundproof the room, but you might still hear normal daily sounds—footsteps, toilet flushing, or showering—from the main house. Skye may also give a "vocal greeting" from her side of the fence, but she won’t have any access to you. *Important* We enforce a 2 GUEST MAXIMUM. La Palma’s short-term rental ordinance allows for only two guests per bedroom, and we’ll follow that rule to keep our business license. NO EXCEPTIONS. (Infants are humans under 1 yrs old. Any older must be considered as a child upon booking. The room is not childproofed). * We do not allow cooking in the unit as it only has a bathroom sink, which will clog with food debris. We provide paper plates, utensils, a cutting board, etc., for simple meals, and a microwave for reheating. *The portable air conditioner connects through the bathroom window which does not allow for the accordion door to be closed while in use. Please note this for expectations. The unit connector does pop on and off easily for quick disconnection. *We have a tankless water heater, which means that we don’t run out of hot water but it does mean it can be a bit little slow to get running (in the morning especially). So please note, that it can take up to 3 minutes for it to get hot.
