Phillipsport Church House
Phillipsport Church House, as seen in Architectural Digest, NY Times, NY Mag., Curbed, and Scribner's Lodge Post was designed by NYC architect Matthew Bremer of Architecture in Formation. The structure dates to 1823, and was deftly converted to into a gracious, timeless, and witty retreat, that will be offered to guests selectively. The 2200 SF light-flooded sanctuary accommodates chef's kitchen, dining, loft, and super-cozy lounge facing the fire orb. It is heaven. The space Phillipsport Church House is spacious and intimate at once. It's great for a small group, a couple, or even as a private retreat for a writer or creative. Downstairs in what was the church basement, where churchgoers attended Sunday School and after-church luncheons are the cozy, intimate, yet gracious sleeping accommodations. The lower level bedrooms provide a contrast in scale and intimacy to the sanctuary above. There are three full bedrooms downstairs. The additional sleeping accommodations are a queen bed in the open loft overlooking the sanctuary, and another queen bed in a niche below the loft within the open sanctuary space. You and your dog will have access to a fully fenced yard enclosed by a hand-laid dry-stack stone wall, including a patio area. A fire pit with Adirondack chairs and dining table across the street (behind the billboard, facing a lovely pond) is also our property.
