North Georgia Soque River Front Cabin Near Helen
Welcome to Bear Cub River Cabin! Escape into secluded serenity, or come rest and refuel after a day of nearby adventures and sightseeing. Centrally located near Talullah Gorge & Falls and Helen, GA, there are plenty of options nearby the cabin for hiking, fishing, zip-lining, horseback riding, ATV-ing, sightseeing, and other adventures. Bear Cub boasts cozy rustic décor with a gas fireplace, flat screen TV, high speed fiber optic internet, and a covered porch overlooking the Soque River. The space The cabin has a master suite on the main floor with a queen size bed and full bathroom. The bathroom is fitted with a stand up shower and washer/dryer unit. It has a beautiful open concept living room / kitchen / dining area where everyone can gather together. In addition to the master suite queen bed, there is an upstairs loft with two full beds and futon. Sit out on the screened deck for your morning coffee or some evening grilling. The cabin is nestled on almost two acres of land with great access to the Soque River, less than half a mile from where it transitions into the Chattahoochee River. Stay cozy inside the cabin or relax outside on the private lot which features a fire pit, plenty of seating, and 2 kayaks for your use in the river. There is plenty of level ground to pitch a tent along the river as well. Perfect for if you like to “camp” but want to sleep inside a warm house on a bed. The Soque River is known for trout, try your luck and fish right off the property or explore more of the river on our kayaks available for our guests, or bring your own waders to fish from within the water. The river is approximately 3-4 feet deep near the cabin when not experiencing heavy rain. The trail to the river can be steep for older guests. Please bring your own fire wood and use the fire pit, trails, and kayaks at your own risk. After use, please hang the kayaks and paddles back on the hooks against the tree. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property from the parking area in front of the cabin to the river. The the driveway is mildly steep and the parking area is flat and spacious enough for 2-3 cars. Other things to note In order to reach the property, you will drive down a dirt/gravel road for ~2 minutes just before reaching the private community. Drive slowly and be on the lookout for wildlife and oncoming vehicles. 4x4 is not required: smaller 2 wheel drive cars travel this road all the time, but do bear in mind it is a dirt road in the woods! Please be aware that any violations of house rules may result in a fine after your stay.
