What's not to love? This area is the largest retirement community in the world for Canadian and American ex pats. The climate is fantastic and people are friendly. We are located in the Racquet Club which has a number of recreational amenities; tennis, pickle ball, gym, racquet ball, basket ball court, heated swimming pool, running track, table tennis, hiking, cycling and dog park. The space The house has recently been repainted inside and out and the kitchen counters have been retiled. Also the entrance way retiled with an added floor design included by my lovely amiga, Madeleine. The view from the kitchen, living room and master bedroom is fantastic. You look south towards Mt. Colima (60 miles away). The volcano erupts frequently and is easily viewed from the house. Great sunsets and sun rises. The downside, if there is one, is that a vehicle is required in the area unless you are fit. Having said that, there is a regular bus that traverses the Lakeside area about every twenty minutes during the day. Arrangements may also be made with the owner to rent his car while you are staying at Casa el Cielo. Guest access As a guest, you have the entire house to yourself except for the storage room. Other things to note If you are flying down to the Lake Chapala area, chances are you will fly to Guadalajara airport which is about 40 kms from the Racquet Club. Approximately a $50.00 peso taxi ride. This rental is owned and operated by Canadians.
