This recently renovated cabin is our family's retreat in the woods. We travel here to fish, hike, have campfires, and spend quality time together. Monterey is the perfect central location to strike out to any number of state parks and visit local attractions. Once you've seen it all, you can come back to Monterey to rest and recharge your batteries at our family's cabin retreat. This cabin can comfortably sleep up to six (6) adults (3 queen). The space Our cabin has three bedrooms with queen sized beds. Each bedroom has a smart TV where you can stream movies. Our kitchen has both standard and entertainment dishes, some small appliances (coffee maker, hot water kettle, toaster, crock pot, wok), cooking utensils, and most common spices available if you feel like cooking. There is also a grill and picnic table outside. We provide a starter set of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, hand soap, and dishwasher and washing machine pods for your convenience. We are in the back of a small neighborhood but relatively separated from neighbors, making the property feel secluded and private. The neighbors are super nice, so feel free to say hello. This is a forested area, and wildlife and bugs are very much around. The lake is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy nature, and fish. It is not currently set up safely for swim access. Our kids enjoy trekking the creek that runs next to the cabin as a way to cool off during the hot months of the year. Guest access Full house Other things to note Our cabin is surrounded by water and the forest. Our kids play in the creek that runs next to the cabin and have seen frogs, lizards, and the occasional water snake. We have also seen wild turkeys, plenty of deer, and expect other animals have roamed the property. If you leave the creatures alone, they’ll leave you alone. Bugs such as flies, bees, and spiders are around, and Orkin treats our property once a month. We also treat the property regularly for snakes of all kinds, though they are occasionally spotted because it’s such a wooded area and this is Tennessee. We highly recommend wearing hiking or rain boots as you walk through the forest any time of year.
