We're happy to share with you our Costa Maya family vacation house. Here we have enjoyed unforgettable vacations with our kids...countless day trips to the nearby Mayan ancient ruins, fishing trips, snorkeling and scuba diving in the amazing coral reef, the enigmatic Laguna de Bacalar, swimming at the Cenote Azul, etc. Our house is in the Mahahual area known as "Casitas"... restaurants, coffee shops, bakery, laundry, atm, internet cafe, pharmacy, medical center and small stores are all nearby. The space Casita Sac-Nicté has a very good vibe. It's clean and comfortable and has everything you will need...it can accomodate six adults. The house is very secure and in a very quiet and safe area that is continuously patrolled by local police. The beach is 400 mts (10 min walk or 5 min bike) from the house. It's location is one of the most convenient places from which to base your experience in Mahahual. There's a/c in the living room and in the master bedroom and there are ceiling fans throughout the house. Depending on the season you may or may not need to use the a/c since opening the windows will allow the fresh air inside the house. There are screens on all the windows to keep insects away. There is a private porch (palapa) with garden located off the kitchen where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of exotic birds and the tropical forest. It's the perfect place after a day at the beach..... Guest access We have two bicycles that guests can enjoy! (PROVIDED UPON REQUEST) Other things to note Mahahual and the Costa Maya is the newest vacation destination on Mexico's Caribbean Coast. Mahahual is the secret jewel of the Yucatan Peninsula. Contrary to the more developed beach towns, Mahahual is the safest and most laid back beach town in the Mexican Caribbean. You'll find remote beaches that are in their natural, untouched state. The Costa Maya Consists of tropical rainforest, mangroves and wonderful beaches with little waves due to the barrier reefs. Eco-tourism is a main focus of the area. People from all over the world come to Mahahual to visit the Banco Chinchorro. It is one of the world's premiere shipwreck diving spots. Furthermore, the Mesoamerican Coral Reef, that runs along the Costa Maya, is the largest reef in the western hemisphere with divers from around the world flocking to swim along some of the most diverse and exotic coral and marine species. Finally, Costa Maya is the closest port to several lesser known, but equally beautiful, Mayan ruins. Chacchoben, which is 40 miles from Mahahual, is a beautiful and enigmatic archeological site where you can explore the amazing Pyramid of the Masks and its surrounding jungle without the hordes of tourists you'll find at other better known sites. This is an unspoiled area where you can get a taste of the way Yucatan was before the large resorts and cities in the north were developed.
