The space The Getaway is located at the home of the owners with a private entrance and covered patio. The Getaway has a spacious living area with an electric fireplace and a Smart TV with ROKU and Netflix available. There is also a variety of board games and cards for your enjoyment. The fully equipped kitchen adjoins the dining area. Guests can enjoy the covered patio overlooking the horse pasture and lake. Just off the bedroom with the king bed is a separate room with a daybed and trundle, perfect for kid(s). The sofa can also serve as another bed as well as room for an air mattress if needed. The bathroom has a large shower with handicap grab bars and a seat. Guest access The owners invite their guests to enjoy the grounds and lake. We can provide a firepit based on availability and request. Bring your fishing poles for catch-and-release crappie, bluegill and several large bass. Be sure to stop by and pet the horses and give them horse treats. Other things to note In addition to the close proximity of Du Quoin State Fairgrounds, Whirlwind Farm is within 30 minutes to several golf courses, Southern Illinois University, Southern Illinois Wine Trail, Southern Illinois Beer Trail, The World Shooting Complex, Pyramid State Park, Rend Lake and many more sites. Be sure to take advantage of everything Southern Illinois has to offer. Other features to note: - Whirlwind Farm also has 4 horse stables and a 5-acre pasture on the property that can be reserved for an additional charge. - Whirlwind Farm also offers the Hideaway which has a kitchenette and sleeps 5-6 comfortably.
