Cozy up in the restored 1820s Miller's House!
The Miller's House is a quaint and beautiful, newly restored two-bedroom house that sits on a small river and is also a national historic landmark. The house has been painstakingly restored over the last 18 months, with modern amenities you'd expect such as all-new appliances and high speed WiFi. Proximity to the Gunpowder Falls for fishing or tubing, the NCR trail (less than .2 mile away) and endless roads to bike on make it a great escape. The space There are so many reasons to enjoy the Miller's House -- the sound of the nearby river, a peaceful lunch looking into the woods, the wavy glass of the restored windows, the claw foot tub -- and that's just on the inside. Right outside is the ongoing restoration of a pre-revolutionary grist mill, which is open to the public and has regular, amazing workshops and classes which you can find on their website. There are also an endless number of curiosities to fill your imagination -- be it hundreds of barrels, gears as tall as two people, and a barn that's also being restored. While there is fast wifi, we purposefully left out a television so you could use your stay for a mental retreat, read a book and enjoy the country. This is a 200-year-old house, so it is important to know that the steps are narrow leading up to each floor and getting up to the first floor from the outside requires walking up a small hill. Please ask if you'd like more information about accessibility. Also note that this listing is not listed as "pet friendly", but if you need to bring a pet, please let us know so we can be sure the property can accommodate. Additional cleaning fees may also apply. Guest access The house is easy to find, just off Monkton Road, and parking is available right next to the house. Other things to note There are great art exhibits, music, yoga, workshops and classes regularly running which you can check out on the Manor Mill website.
