Feel free to walk across the dam to the other side of the backyard. It really is beautiful over there and it's a great private place to spread a blanket and have a picnic. Take a walk through the woods on the South side of the house, just don't cross any fences, and always watch out for critters. Most are harmless, but some can sting or bite if approached or fooled with. Oh, and we ask you not to go into the woods on the North side (patio & parking side). There's no fence, but it doesn't belong to us, and Texas folk respect other people's property by staying off it unless invited. Other things to note East Texas is full of history and things to do.
