Ready to feel nostalgic and get away from the chaos? Visit our festive little Christmas Cottage that is attached to the back of our 100 year old farmhouse. Enjoy the stunning green hillside overlooking our sweet chicken coop. Fresh air, twinkling lights and privacy await! While you may feel 1,000 miles away...it's a short drive to shopping, wineries, 5 Star restaurants, lots of festivals and local events, even DC can be a day trip. We truly enjoy hosting and look forward to sharing our space. The space High ceilings in the kitchen and living area, second floor has slanted ceilings. Each room has been carefully decorated and lovingly maintained. The kitchen has dishes and a coffee area plus tea kettle. The laundry area has detergent and dryer sheets, games, reading materials a first aid kit and bug spray. This is a modern cozy cottage with a gorgeous view and a private yard. In the evening the outdoor area comes to life with twinkling lights (hooked to a timer). The king bedroom upstairs easily sleeps two and has a little corner nook for a closet area. The double bedroom (across the hall) also sleeps two and has a small walk in closet and a desk area. Both upstairs rooms have smart televisions and extra heating and cooling units depending on the seasons. There is a third sleeping option if desired and that is the downstairs blue velvet couch. The couch is not a couch bed however it sleeps like a twin size bed. Please remember the first floor only has a half bath so someone sleeping on the first floor would still need to shower upstairs. All sheets, bedding, towels, dish detergent, cooking oil, coffee, and shampoo/conditioner/body wash is provided. There are also individually wrapped toothbrushes and travel size tooth paste in the upstairs bathroom in case you have forgotten something. Hair dryer, dental floss and face wash towels (for softer skin) also provided in the upstairs bathroom. The main farmhouse and the Christmas Cottage are separated by a warehouse type space and a small business office so their is complete privacy however, we are close enough to assist you should you need anything! We truly do enjoy hosting and we believe that makes all the difference! Guest access You will need a car. Their is a space marked "guest parking" that is exclusively for you. We can accommodate two cars easily, if you need more than two spaces please let us know ahead of time and it shouldn't be a problem. Other things to note This is a historical house in a very historical area. It feels rural however we are truly very strategically located minutes away from whimsical small towns, fine dining restaurants as well as many amazing cheap eats, and lots of live music and entertainment options. Old town Manassas is a 15 minute drive and has several very good restaurant options as well as little shops, and lots of festivals and events throughout the year. Feeling historical? Civil War battlefields and many historic locations (including Brentsville just 1.7 miles away). Quantico National Cemetery, Marine Base and Museum is a short 15 minute drive down Joplin Road which is traffic free and a beautiful meandering drive. Downtown Fredericksburg (just 34 miles) offers tons of history, local shops, dining and even seasonal carriage rides. Head the other direction to the lovely town of Occoquan where you can experience equally thrilling small town shops, haunted historical tours and even river boat rides, Just 15 miles away) Lot's of hiking options close by with the unforgettable Shenandoah National Park just a 42 mile (stunning) drive. There are several more small whimsical towns a short drive away that make fun day trips also. Several wineries and breweries to choose from as well as day trips to DC, Fredericksburg, Downtown Front Royal, Shenandoah, Luray Caverns, Marshall, Old Town Alexandria, Middleburg, Tysons and Potomac Mall (for shopping) are all great day (or afternoon) trips from this location.
