Located perfectly in the center of Pittsburgh, you'll love my renovated home with high ceilings, a massive kitchen, and cozy outdoor space. The house is shared with a few guests who are all super friendly. Come and meet some new people or keep to yourself and work at your desk, whatever suits you. The space All bedrooms are fully furnished with a comfortable bed, closet or wardrobe, desk and chair, and clothes storage. Fresh sheets and bath towels are provided, and for stays of more than one week, we thank the guests for looking after their linens along with their own laundry. Our lovely housekeepers clean the house regularly, including your room, along with the bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas. I kindly ask that everyone keep the house tidy, from the common areas like the kitchen to your room as well. We will let you know when house keepers are coming, and they will clean your room regularly too. We use an energy efficient nest thermostat to keep the house comfortably warm in cold months will also adjust room temperature as you need. In the warm months we have air conditioning controlled in each bedroom. Guest access You'll have access to the large kitchen, several bathrooms, laundry room, living room with TV, dining room, back porch and garden. During your stay I travel back and forth overseas so I don't tend to get to see guests. However when I am in Pittsburgh I'm around and socialize with guests if they are interested. One of the current house guests helps look after the house and is super friendly. Sometimes people choose to cook together, hang out, etc. but this is up to guests. Other things to note The house itself has 4 bathrooms, 2nd floor laundry, and big windows that bring in a lot of sunlight. The kitchen is made for the home chef - I personally love to cook and installed a high-end Swedish gas stove / oven you might prepare your next pasta or special dish on. We have every pot, pan, blender, juicer, slow cooker, and kitchen gadget you might need, plus a very large refrigerator / freezer and storage pantry all your things. The kitchen is designed around a large center island with stools, a farmhouse sink under the window overlooking the garden, and a side station with microwave and extra refrigerator. Outside behind the kitchen we have a covered porch and a large stone patio where you can hang out and use the grill / bbq. You can store your bike in the garage if you like. Everything is set up for long term guests. We generally look for people who want to live together with others and maybe make dinner tonight one night, watch some TV or go out here and there. It makes it feel less like a hotel and more like a home. Typically we welcome post-doc researchers, PhD candidates, and graduate students embarking on new programs. We also often share the house with nurses, doctors, and other medical and business professionals. Housemates come from all over the U.S. and the world, be it western Europe, South Korea and China, and also South America (and we seem to have plenty of guests from Spain, olé).
