Cheerful Private Bedroom in Historic Stone Home
Come stay a while at the Mill Stone Cottage - a local favorite historic stone cottage on nearly one acre in downtown Northumberland. Purchased in the fall of 2021, artist and hosts Amanda and Ryan have been tastefully renovating the property room by room and are now ready to share it with travelers. Situated on almost 1 acre, guests are welcome to stroll the gardens, pick their own bouquet in season, eat their dinner on the flagstone patio, or sip coffee in the morning on the little side porch. The space The Mill Stone Cottage is a very unique property that everyone in town seems to know and love. I have been renovating the property since I purchased it in the fall of 2021, but there is still a ways to go as it is a labor of love! The property has its own quirks, creaky floors, so if those things freak you out then this is not the place to stay! The house is heated with an updated natural gas furnace, and each bedroom has a window air conditioner unit as well as ceiling fans in the downstairs living room and kitchen. We are very close to lots of amenities in the beautiful Susquehanna River Valley. Susquehanna University: 18 minutes Bucknell University: 13 minutes Downtown Lewisburg: 12 minutes Downtown Selinsgrove: 16 minutes Geisinger Danville: 20 minutes Bloomsburg University: 33 minutes Williamsport: 40 minutes Guest access Guests are welcome to hang in the communal kitchen, to living rooms, use of both the full bathroom upstairs and a half bath downstairs, as well as the large yard, gardens, flagstone patio, and cute side porch perfect for morning coffee. Guests will only be given a key upon arrival for the front door if their stay is longer than two days. During your stay My name is Amanda and I am a local photographer who specializes in weddings and women empowerment shoots. I am an avid traveler and enjoy meeting new people, although I completely respect your privacy and space if you are ready to turn in after a long day. I do work from home editing the majority of the day, but may be gone in the evening for shoots or at crew practice where I am a coach for the local University. My two rescue dogs, June and Chance, and cats Spice Girl and Birdie are the true hosts - all very sweet and friendly and low energy. They are always kept out of guest rooms whether or not we have someone staying with us. If you are not a fan of animals or are allergic, this place is not for you! My partner Ryan moved in in the spring of 23 and he is another creative who enjoys hosting! Other things to note Please note there are two larger dogs and two cats on the property. They are all very sweet and friendly, but those who are not a fan of animals or who are allergic should not book. They are very well behaved and the dogs are kept with me most of the day. My partner Ryan also lives here!
