Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cabin. Just a stone's throw from the public boat launch, and centrally located to access the region's many outdoor recreational activities. Pick a season; boating, canoeing, whitewater rafting, or golfing in the summer; hunting, or fall foliage in autumn; skiing, ice fishing, or snowmobiling in the winter. There are also extensive ATV/UTV trail systems, or just simply relax and enjoy the sounds of nature from one of the best views on the lake! The space This cute camp has everything you need for a relaxing stay at the lake. Although there is running water, please DO NOT drink the water from the faucet due to very high concentrations of iron and other contaminants. The water is fine for bathing, doing dishes, and washing clothes. The filtration system is coming soon. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DRINKING WATER. 42" flat screen TV for streaming and free WIFI. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs. Bedroom 1: Queen bed, dresser, a small closet with hangers. Bedroom 2: Full bed, twin bed with a pull-out trundle, dresser, and small closet. Both bedrooms have box fans for those warm Maine evenings. There is one bathroom located off the kitchen. Shower only, no tub. Hairdryer provided. The kitchen has a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, and washer and dryer. No dishwasher. There is a 10-cup coffee maker and filters. There is a 4-slice toaster. Dishes include the basics: dinnerware, utensils, pots and pans, and storage containers. Basic spices are provided as well. There is a reasonable amount of hand soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. The eating area is the bar top that separates the kitchen and the living room. There is no separate table. There is a propane fireplace and a propane heater for warmth. There is no generator; these will continue to provide heat in the case of a power outage. There are 2 single kayaks for your use under the deck. Please slide them back under when you leave. There are various-sized life vests in the little shed with the useless satellite dish on top. Other things to note DO NOT DIVE OFF THE DOCK!! It is very shallow. If you have a boat, use caution when navigating to and from the dock as there are several large rocks to avoid. Trash pickup is Wed. a.m.. Please take trash (and recyclables) to the old brown shed near the very top of the drive-in. Please keep the door latched to deter critters. Firewood is also available to the left of the trash shed at the top of the driveway coming in. We do not have a fire starter or kindling. Please use only what you need. Vicneire's is a general store located approx. 10 min. away. There you can find a limited assortment of fresh produce, meats, dairy, frozen foods, and basic home supplies. They have gas, propane, and a little kitchen in the back for eat-in or take-out. There will likely be propane left for the grill from previous renters. However, in the case that you run out, it will be your responsibility to swap out the tank. Larger grocery stores such as Hannaford's and Walmart are about a 25 min. drive in Skowhegan.
