Cottage at the Broken Branch
Experience the historic Gold Country and Yosemite national park staying in this newly renovated 1800s mining cabin. Originally built in the late 1800s for the miners of the Crystal Rock mine, the cottage now has heat, air conditioning, highspeed wifi, a kitchen, and bathroom. The Broken Branch is a small working ranch, so the beautiful sunrise views include several horses, donkeys, and goats. It's about an hour and a half to Yosemite and only minutes from downtown Columbia and Sonora. The space The one bedroom, one bath cottage is about 250 sq ft. It has wood plank flooring throughout. It's about 200 feet from the main house and has a separate entrance and parking. Views are of the oaks and overlook the open air barn. The cottage didn't have plumbing originally, so tall/large people may find the bathroom to be small, but the showerhead is new as of late October 2024. Guest access The entire cottage and its separate yard are available to guests. Wifi is strong at 50 Mbs, plenty for Zoom calls or streaming. There's also a small porch for sitting in the evening. Parking for two vehicles. Other things to note Tours of the working ranch can be arranged if guests would like to pet the animals. The donkeys are especially big fans of pets. There may also be horse familiarity sessions available for an extra fee if time allows.
