MAPLE HOUSE - THE HOUSE ON THE HILL WITH THE VIEW OF YESTERYEAR! Built in 1787, Maple House offers a farm stay Birds Eye View apartment with spectacular views; three dark, quiet bedrooms each with private bath; kitchen; sunroom with fireplace, and homegrown foods provided for breakfast. Free WiFi, miles of x-c skiing/hiking trails out the back door. Ski or hike around Rowe Forest and Pelham Lake which offers free swimming, tennis, volleyball, BBQ facilities, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The space - Eat in kitchen looking out over the pastures and mountain ridge. - First floor large sunroom with fireplace also exclusively reserved for guests for games, reading or meals. - Large yard with various gardens, water feature, picnic/bonfire area, hiking trails on 15 acres lead to trails in the town park. - Farm animals. - Dark night skies, excellent for viewing the stars. - Extremely quiet, other than the owls, frogs and coyotes. - No TV/cable in the rooms. Guest access **Covered outside stairs access the 3rd floor guest space.** The apartment includes a kitchenette with breakfast foods and coffee provided for your use. You are welcome to use all Maple House amenities including the screened sunroom with brick oven fireplace for reading, games, and meals. The hammock, Adirondack chairs in the perennial garden, lawn games, outdoor grill and picnic area, trails in our 15 acres of woods, and outdoor fire pit. You may help feed the sheep and chickens. You are also welcome to use the trails and swim, boat, or fish on the pond in the Pelham Lake Park, just a half mile through our woods. This private 1,000 acre game preserve has a wonderful lake with free use of paddle boat, kayak or canoes. Also excellent tennis, volley ball, and basket ball courts, playground, free wood for fires or bar-B-Q, and 10 miles of hiking trails that include two small mountains you can climb. Other things to note **Be advised that we have no restaurants in Rowe.** Coming from the east you could have a wonderful stop and walk around the Victorian village of Shelburne Falls with choices of restaurants. From the west you have a large selection of restaurants in Williamstown or North Adams and of course the Golden Eagle Restaurant on the famous hair pin curve. In Charlemont, the town where you turn up the mountain into Rowe, there is the Cold River Café. Or bring home a pizza from Berkshire Pizzeria!
