Note: Please inform us in advance if you require the extra bed. Hamtramck has been called “The World In Two Square Miles” and was originally settled by Polish immigrants. It still maintains its Eastern European feel, but now also reflects the melting pot experience with its restaurants catering to many other tastes, from Yemni to Indian to Iraqui, Bengali and Greek. This tour-stop home is minutes from restaurants visited by Anthony Bordain and Guy Fieri, which serve scrumptious pierogies, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, potato pancakes, etc., all often accompanied by live music and great beers. Hamtramck is the perfect place to stay when you are looking to explore Detroit, Ann Arbor, etc. but not pay “big city” prices. Lose yourself in the unique collection of neighborhood restaurants, shops, and bars, and when you are ready to put your feet up, let us welcome you into our home. While we cannot guarantee (same as stores, movie theaters, hotels, etc.) none of our guests, family, or friends have ever reported any issues. Our two dogs are very friendly and always excited to see guests though they could use some time with the dog whisperer to be better trained :) Parking is on the street and is free. If you have work to do during your stay, please take advantage of the fast wifi as well as the modest laptop desk. Our home movie theater with 13ft wide screen and 7.1 surround sound is available for use by guests upon request, though a $15 donation (per movie) towards the projector lamp replacement fund is requested...times for when movie(s) must end are negotiable and depending on the day as we need to both start up and wind down the theater electronics for you. Kitchen access is possible and we've listed common items available for use. We ask only that you inform us in advance of your needs so that we can assure accessibility, etc. Listing says free washer and dryer access...this is for guests staying 3 days or more...otherwise a small fee may apply (it's expensive now for gas and electricity. Though we encourage our guests to explore the home, there are many stairs, a pond with bridge, a spiral staircase, various decks with non uniform surfaces, etc. so we urge visitors to be careful and we do not take responsibility for falls/accidents/etc. as a result of carelessness while on the premises.
