Delaware Riverfront
This isn’t a cold, clinical, ultra-modern, cooperate-owned product masquerading as a home. Come here for a taste of humanity, surprise, old-fashioned American décor, and an intriguing setting of items not seen over and over again in clone rental units around the area. Rather than trying to transplant an urban style/faux glamour to the Upstate experience, we endeavor to give the comforts and intriguing whatnots, knickknacks, curiosities and lost charms perhaps seen in your grandparents’ home. The space This 2 bedroom-1100 square foot- riverfront apartment--located on the historic D & H Canal and Delaware river-- can comfortably accommodate a family of 4. Set on over 5 acres, it is approximately 20 minutes from the Metro North Train, and a 1-minute drive to the town of Barryville, where you can find restaurants, antique shops, grocery stores, and a weekend farmers market. We are also located minutes from Canoe rentals, Zip lining, hiking, the historic (Revolutionary War) Minisink battlefield park, the Bethel Woods concerts, and more. The apartment also features a beautiful deck, 2 fire pits, Smart TV (no cable, but it has Netflix, Amazon Prime), Bluray/dvd player, kitchen, a 10.2 cf refrigerator (with small freezer), Wifi access, air conditioning (bedrooms only) and private phone line. The landscape is dominated by the Delaware River, which is directly accessible for fishing, boating, swimming, or just gazing at the sunset. Bald Eagles are commonly seen from here. On our section of the river, the water moves in a gentle current, and it is approximately 20 feet deep in the middle, which is perfect for swimming, fishing, and boating. Guest access The guests will have access to apartment 1. Guests have access to the entire property, tow path, river (for swimming and fishing), Apple/pear orchard, and private river trail. Other things to note Both bedrooms have their own air conditioners (PTAC-Hotel-style). We are along RT 97, which does add traffic sounds, and motorcycles are often driven along the Route on nice days. This is a common characteristic of all the places in this area due to the scenic drive. *Also, if you plan on swimming here, I highly suggest bringing water shoes.* Also, we cannot be held responsible for things outside our control, such as bad weather, power outages, or poor luck when fishing :) There is another rental unit in the building, and though there is no connectivity, other guests may be encountered outdoors. So, please agree to cordiality and respect for others when booking this space. **Each space has its own private deck, grill, firepit**
