The space The Mermaid guest suite is in a separate wing of our house and consists of bedroom with a queen size pillow top bed and a living room with sofa that can be opened into a queen sized bed. The suite overlooks the ocean and harbor with mountain foothills in the background. Just through the sliding glass doors of your living room is a large deck with hot tub overlooking the ocean. We have a private acre lot so bathing suits are optional! Here you can relax and watch the moon glistening on the waves, the fishing boats arriving and departing, or the fog creeping down the mountains. Observant guests may see osprey, otters, harbor seals, sea lions, whales, or even the occasional mermaid. Brookings-Harbor is on the Wild Rivers Coast of Oregon, 20 miles north of Crescent City, California and midway between Portland and San Francisco. Brookings has several excellent restaurants and art galleries. Live music is frequently featured in various venues. We enjoy a variety of natural beauty in this area, from some of the oldest Redwood groves to whitewater rivers to sand dunes to our beautiful rocky coast. We can point you to innumerable hiking trails along the coast or in nearby redwood forests. Guest access We have a large back yard with two benches near the ocean front where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. During your stay We love to meet new people and change strangers into our new best friends. However we do follow social distancing guidelines during pandemic. Other things to note The two rooms in the mermaid suite (living area and bedroom) can be divided by a heavy ornate pull curtain, so that when the sofa bed is opened up into queen size bed you have two private sleeping areas, both with access to the bathroom without going through the other sleeping area.
