Location is fantastic, right in the heart of Downtown WF. It is an easy walk to all the downtown restaurants, bars and shops with easy, in and out onsite parking... Book with confidence! Named The Gadabout Guest House and Inn, The Gadabout was approved by the town of Wake Forest to become an upscale commercial Inn/Bed and Breakfast. That same timeline in 2016, Airbnb was also emerging. It was decided to offer The Gadabout Guest House listings through Airbnbs' platform and it has worked out great, both for our guests and host:) Basecamp offers clean, quality, quiet lodging with private entrance and off-street parking. A key code 8' gated entrance leads you to a courtyard and covered stairway that takes you to "Basecamp." It is a 2nd story, private guest suite with private entrance and private covered deck area. Between stays we wash not just the towels and bedding but also comforters, matress cover, throw blankets and steam clean all floors each and every time. We take pride in the knowledge that The Gadabout is a step above in cleanliness:) Treat yourself to a Spa like tiled bathroom with walk in shower. Open and airy with cotton towels, white sheets. Plush Serta memory foam topper bed and nice treetop window views :) An abundance of french doors, heavy mouldings, tile and hardwoods throughout this period piece. Perfect for the traveling business person or the couple that's wants a getaway and everyone in between. Everything downtown is about a 5 minute or so walk away. Central heat and air with your own thermostat, strong WiFi, Smart TV, expanded cable and HBO. Very nice space with tree-top views. Great tranquil spot to lose yourself in a book or unwind and let your mind wander, inside or out! Kitchenette has fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate and a Kuireg coffee maker. It is intended for very light cooking. There is no range hood. Laundry is available for stays of 5 days or more and cleaning supplies are provided:) house manual can answer questions. Other things to note Basecamp is one of 5 upscale Suites at The Gadabout House & Inn in historic downtown Wake Forest. Due to our size we are able to move guests easily to one of our other onsite Suites if and when room availability doesn't quite fit our guests timeline. This also can happen on extended stays or when timelines extend and there is already a booking scheduled. I believe this is an asset of the Gadabout and guests seem to like that they can continue their stay here and enjoy one of our other Suites. COVID....We use commercial steam cleaners for all floors and wipe down surfaces with approved CDC disinfectants. These cleaners are also stocked in suite and available for guests. These high standard cleaning steps have always been in practice as standard room cleaning and disinfecting at The Gadabout. We also periodically ozonate Suites. Now back to what you would have been reading if Covid was never here:) The HVAC Mechanical Room. The entrance is located in Basecamp. We have all of our units serviced regularly as recommended, but sometimes things still break. In the event a unit does go down and can not be fixed from outside, a Tech may need to access that room, typically for a short period of time. In the event that does happen, I will coordinate with the current guest ahead of time to schedule access. We stay on top of preventative maintenance, but unfortunately, they don't make things as good as they used to.
