Just a 15 minute walk to Lake Michigan and an easy drive to Indiana Dunes National Park, Stonewood is our little piece of paradise, and we’re excited to share it with you. Stroll 8 minutes to the nearby Red Arrow stables; catch a summer show at the Dunes Theater or live music at the Acorn; pick up a wood-fired pizza and gelato a few blocks down the street at Stop 50 (one of our favorite local joints)—it’s all at your fingertips. You can do it all knowing that your stay helps contribute to the area’s preservation: We donate a portion of every visitor’s stay at Stonewood to both Save the Dunes (savedunes.org), a Michigan City-based nonprofit whose mission is to preserve, protect, and restore the the Indiana Dunes and all other natural resources in Northwest Indiana’s Lake Michigan Watershed; and Alliance for the Great Lakes (greatlakes.org), which works to ensure that the lakes are healthy and safe for all. We also strive to minimize the impact of every stay via actively recycling and composting; avoiding single-use plastics; and using 100% sustainable paper products, from bamboo paper towels to “soft as unicorn kisses” bamboo TP.
