Perfect for a weekend getaway or longer stays. The neighborhood is walk/bike-able, close to John Carroll University, Cedar-Lee District, Fairmount Circle, and Van Aken District with many fun shops and exciting restaurants nearby. A fifteen minute drive takes you to downtown Cleveland, The Cleveland Clinic and other city attractions. The space Built in 1938, Tyndall Carriage House is a unique property for the neighborhood and is the ONLY carriage house in University Heights. You won't find another property like this in the area. The Carriage House is truly an extension of our home, both the interior and exterior are a reflection of our personalities, inspired by our travels and life experiences, cookie cutter is the last way we would describe the space. The décor is a collection of George’s time in the Marines, stationed in Okinawa, and my travel and teaching history and art in Michigan, Virginia and the UK. We welcome you to explore our “cozy cottage” and our friendly neighborhood. Tyndall Carriage House is located behind our home, in a detached garage unit. The entrance is tucked behind the garage, follow a pathway, down a few stone steps, to the entrance. The kitchen and bathroom are on the first floor. The main living space is upstairs above the garages. The kitchen is updated, small but efficient. It is fully equipped including; a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, single burner built-in hotplate, toaster oven, teapot, coffee maker, crockpot, rice maker, blender, dishes, glassware, cookware and utensils. Salt, pepper, a few cooking spices, sugar, coffee, teas, creamer, a Britta water picture with refillable bottles, paper products, and a few pantry items are provided. A full bathroom is located on the main floor next to the kitchen. We have stocked the bathroom with essential toiletries, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, hair dryer, and plenty of towels. Upstairs is the main living space with a full sized memory foam sleeper sofa and a daybed. It is business ready with a work space cabinet, wireless printer, office supplies and Wi-Fi access. A TV with cable, Apple TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs, games, toys, books and magazine round out the cozy space. One step down from the living room, is a small bedroom with a full size bed, closet, and dresser. There is no door separating the living room and the bedroom, but there is a privacy curtain. Linens and towels are provided and can be refreshed throughout your stay if needed. The space is family friendly and has a portable crib, baby bath, high chair, outlet covers and a safety gates. Families are welcome to enjoy the outdoor playset. We do not provide housekeeping service during your stay, but we are happy to refresh your towels and bed linens. If you need anything replenished, you can contact us, but the guest house is well stocked for your comfort and needs. There is no washer and dryer for your personal use. We can make recommendations for a laundromat and laundry services. We have provided a local dry-cleaning bag, with same day free pick up and delivery for your convenience. Please be aware that the parking area is SHARED, we ask for your flexibility and understanding. We are able to provide a safe and secure place to park your vehicle(s), but parking is limited. The carriage house is an extension of our home, the driveway and parking spaces are shared with us. A single car drive way leads to two parking spaces in front of the carriage house garages. Street parking is available, across from our house, during the day. You CAN NOT park on the street between the hours of 2am-6am, or on the hydrant side of the street. We will do our best to accommodate your parking needs. Guest access The entire guest house is yours to enjoy. You are welcome to enjoy the backyard space, playset, patio areas, fire pit, grill and grill tools. We just ask guest to practice "leave it as you found it", we share the space too. Other things to note This is a residential neighborhood. We live here with our family. Please be mindful of noise. No loud music, No parties, No Smoking and No Pets.
