Guest access It is important that prospective guest read through this description before inquiring or requesting stays on the farm. The farm is located 45 miles Northwest of the city of Corpus Christi. It is rural and country side and is located across the road from lakeside to Lake Corpus Christi near Mathis, TX. It is a working farm and guest will be exposed to actual farm life and all that comes with it. While we welcome families, the farm lifestyle may not be agreeable to some children. Extreme supervision is required of parents. Guests have access to most of the areas of the ranch. However, guests are not allowed inside any enclosure, paddock or pasture when animals are present unless accompanied by owner or staff. The Shop, located inside the main building, is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by request on Sunday. (Note: if doors are locked text the owner, it generally means they are somewhere on the property). Guests should be aware that in addition to using Livestock Guardian Dogs and as part of the security for the farm, security cameras are installed on the main building and are in use 24/7. The cams are trained on specific animal paddocks, shelters and nearby pastures, as well as the main entry point to the ranch and parking areas that are located near animals shelters. Guests should awear appropriate clothing and shoes while at the ranch. Roads and driveways are gravel, and are uneven. At night it can be very dark and the uneven roads and walkways can be hard to navigate without a flashlight. Sturdy shoes are a must! During summer we recommend sunscreen and if it’s been rainy, mosquito spray is helpful. Please be aware that the farm is in a rural/country area, and wild life is abundant! You may see rabbits, squirrels, foxes, field mice and moles, skunks, raccoons, deer. Occasionally wild pigs and javelina have wandered through the farm. Also be alert for coyotes and Bobcat. While rare, cougar are spotted occasionally. Also be very aware that snakes, spiders and scorpions also live on the farm. Not all snakes are poisonous but you should treat them all as though they are! Tell the owner of any encounter you have with any wildlife on the property. Our LGDs (Livestock Guardian Dogs) alert us as well as let predatory animals know they are working and keep the farm safe by barking and/or howling. Their noise is a part of the farm as much as the crowing of the roosters. We do allow small breed dogs (maximum weight of 25 pounds) in this cabin with an additional charge per pet per visit of $25.00. A separate invoice will be sent after booking the cabin. Dogs must be kept on leash when outside of the cabin and can not be tied or left unattended at anytime. Please message the owner if you have any questions concerning pet visits. Other things to note The State Park, which is only a few minutes away by car, offers swimming, boating, hiking and bicycling, fishing pier, kayaking. If you wish to bring your boat, please make arrangements ahead of your visit for a place to park it. Corpus Christi has several points of interests for the guests. IH37 ends at the Bay Front and takes approximately 35 minutes from access to reach. The Ranch is 4 miles from the access to IH37.
